'Euphoria': HBO Releases Official Trailer for Upcoming Zendaya-Starring Teen Drama

HBO's upcoming Sam Levinson (The Wizard of Lies) teen drama Euphoria finally has an official trailer, landing a little more than a month before its June 16th premiere on the cable giant. Starring Spider-Man: Homecoming's Zendaya and adapted from the Israeli series of the same name, the project is described as the story of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love, and friendship – all told by a lying, drug-addicted 17-year-old girl named Rue (Zendaya). Written by Levinson and with a pilot directed by Augustine Frizzell, the series also lists Drake and DJ/producer Future the Prince as executive producers.

Zendaya leads an ensemble cast that also includes Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.

All episodes created and written by Sam Levinson, who also serves as executive producer. Other executive producers include Drake, Future the Prince, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Ron Leshem, Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokady, Gary Lennon and Jim Kleverweis. Produced in partnership with A24 and based on the Israeli series of the same name, which was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, from HOT.

Surprisingly, it's been close to a year since HBO announced Zendaya had joined the series as lead and close to ten months since the the actress took to her Twitter and Instagram accounts to give viewers a glimpse of what they can expect when Euphoria premieres on June 16th:

Euphoria stars Zendaya, Maude Apatow as Lexi, Brian "Astro" Bradley as McKay, Eric Dane as Cal, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Barbie Ferreira as Kat, Nika King as Leslie, Storm Reid as Gia, Hunter Schafer as Jules, and Sydney Sweeney as Cassie.

Levinson, Drake, and Future the Prince will executive produce alongside original Israeli series creators Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin, Tmira Yardeni, Ravi Nandan, Kevin Turen, Hadas Mozes Lichtenstein, Mirit Toovi, Yoram Mokadi and Gary Lennon, with Frizzell co-executive producing and A24 Television producing.
