"This Is Us" Offers Season 4 Return Teaser; Sophia Bush, Pamela Adlon to Guest Star

Series creator Dan Fogelman promised viewers a season of NBC's This Is Us unlike any they've seen before, and Bleeding Cool's resident show expert Tiffany Tchobanian has been your tour guide through a fourth season universe that's been blown wide open with new faces and possibilities.

With the series set to return on January 14th with "Light and Shadows" (with none other than John Legend), NBC used their time at the Television Critics Association (TCA) winter press event to unveil a new preview video for the second-half of season 4 – which you can screen below (followed by preview images for the episode).

In addition, it was announced that Sophia Bush (One Tree Hill, Chicago P.D.) and Pamela Adlon (Better Things) are set to guest star later this season. Fogelman was hesitant to offer too much about either character – though he did have this to regarding Adlon's role in an upcoming Randall (Sterling K. Brown) storyline: "Sterling has an unbelievable arc in the back half of the season, and she plays an important role in the story."
