James Wright writes from Toronto Fan Expo:
Fan Expo, Canada's largest pop culture, comic, anime, and science fiction convention, is back and ready to take over Labour Weekend. Now one of the largest conventions in North America, the convention routinely draws crowds for all over the globe to descend on Toronto for comics, video games, pop culture, and poutine.
This year Fan Expo pulled out all the stops on the celebrity side bringing in a full Back to the Future cast reunion, a laundry list of WWE Hall of Famers like Triple H, as well as Aquaman himself Jason Momoa. Comics presence this year was very minimal with limited presence from the major publishers — except for Valiant Comics, who were stationed inside the Silver Snail booth, and Aspen Comics, who were also in attendance. DC Comics did have a massive show space on the floor, but it was mostly used as a photo booth and to gave away copies of Teen Titans Go! and DC Nation to fans.
William Wright and photographer Tyler Mitchell were on the ground floor to document all the madness of Day 1 for Fan Expo. Some stellar cosplay was on display from The Walking Dead, Hellboy, The Handmaid's Tale, Incredibles, Venom, Spider-Man, and more.
