Last month saw the return of CHIEF INSPECTOR GATOR to the pages of ACES WEEKLY, the award winning digital anthology.
The story returns from its original run in Volume 25 where we ended on a cliffhanger to run the final three installments of the first story in the current Volume 26.

However, this is a story and a project that has been a long time in the making. As the story began to grow from an initial idea, I knew that the project needed a specific artist to help bring it to life. That's when I reached out to my great friend, frequent collaborator and artist extraordinaire, Oscar Capristo to come on board and bring these expressive characters and this unique concept and world to vibrant life. All through the power of his pencil!

The definition of Anthropomorphic is as follows: the attribution of human traits, emotions, and intentions to non-human entities. If I had to sum up the basic premise of the project in a nutshell, I'd say, "The Mysterious Case Files of Chief Inspector Gator is in the genre of such tales as Elephantmen and Blacksad, where half-humans live as if in a human world."

I went in this direction to give the characters distinctive characteristics that would mimic the real world. The world of C.I. gator is inhabited by all forms of the animal kingdom. It is a detective series, which follows the main characters as they solve mysteries, set in a richly developed noir style world.

Once the concept and characters were established, I started looking for a Publisher. Enter, David Lloyd (V for Vendetta), Publisher of ACES WEEKLY. We discussed the project and bringing it under the Aces Weekly banner and decided that it would be a great fit and the perfect home to tell the amazing tales of Chief Inspector Gator.

ACES WEEKLY had this to say, "In Aces Weekly, we've been happily telling you almost all the kinds of stories you can find in any comics anywhere at any time, but this week we cover ground we haven't covered before. Chief Inspector Gator comes to you from Anthony Zicari and Oscar Capristo, in a four-week first part adventure that will conclude in Volume 26. We hope you'll enjoy this trip into new Aces Weekly territory with us. If you happen to, please let us know!"
