An Amazing Tribute To Late Paddington Bear Creator Michael Bond

On June 27th, Michael Bond passed away. He was the creator of Paddington Bear, a global phenomenon that has sold over 35 million books since his debute in 1958. He continued to publish stories, with the last having come out this year. The character has been featured in more than 20 books as well as television series and films. The look is iconic, a small bear in an old red hat, a blue duffel coat carrying a battered suitcase… just about everyone has at least seen the character.

The first story starts simply with Paddington being discovered at Paddington railway station in London by the Brown family, he is sitting on his suitcase with a note pined to his coat that reads "Please look after this bear. Thank you." Someone has taken the time to put together the most perfect tribute to Bond and his marmalade loving bear. Thanks to writer Lee 'Budgie' Barnett who posted the images… we see a Paddington Bear stuffed toy sitting in the window of the lost property office, the note tied to his coat reads "Michael Bond 1926-2017, Yes, we will look after this bear…" and the placed a jar of Robertson's Golden Shred Marmalade next to him.

Well done.
