Archie-Heavy Heritage Auction Coming up This Month

Looking for some Golden Age Archie Comics? From February 22-24, Heritage Auction House will have a number of early and key Archie books up for sale. These books are already going above what Overstreet has them listed as, so needless to say Archie books are still hot! Some highlights include:

Pep Comics #22, CBCS 6.5 Restored, off white pages. The first appearance of Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, and Jughead Jones. This book is a must have for any Archie collector, as well as anyone who collects key GA books and teen humor/romance. Currently Overstreet Guide on this book unrestored is 2.0 value = $25,000; VG 4.0 value = $50,000; FN 6.0 value = $75,000.

Archie Comics #1, CGC 3.0 off white pages. One of the hottest GA books to date, a copy of this book in a similar grade sold for $28k last year. By now the gang's all here, including Mrs. Andrews! Overstreet on this book is  GD 2.0 value = $12,000; VG 4.0 value = $24,000.

Archie Shoe-Store Giveaway, CGC 9.0 white pages. A number of these fan club magazines were published between 1948-1950, and they're always fun to see come up for auction. Overstreet 2017 VF/NM 9.0 value = $216.

Pep Comics #26 CGC 2.5 cream to off white pages. This book should be in every Archie fans collection as it is the first appearance of Veronica Lodge. Overstreet 2017 GD 2.0 value = $811.

Shield-Wizard Comics #1, CGC 6.0 cream to off white pages. Classic Irv Novick cover, this is the origin story to the Shield and Wizard. This was before Archie graced the pages of Pep #22, so while newer Archie fans may not be interested, I urge you all to consider this beautiful example of this comic. Overstreet 2017 FN 6.0 value = $1,350.

Archie's Girls Betty and Veronica #1, CBCS 6.5, off white to white pages. The girls in their first solo comic, cementing them in pop culture history. Overstreet 2017 FN 6.0 value = $978; VF 8.0 value = $2,282.

There are other amazing comics in this focused auction, so if Archie isn't your thing, check out the other books Heritage has up for auction!
