AudioComics Impresses Tom Jane
I had some information in my email for the last two days about a Kickstarter for an audio drama called Utopiates. Yesterday I see the following tweet:
What's an AudioFilm? This looks very cool. i want to work with these guys. http://t.co/ZAt8UIrgC8 http://t.co/O3gvpNY9vV

I love the idea of audio dramas, like classic radio shows, and someone like Tom Jane would do great with his voice. I've actually thought about doing some myself…
So what is Utopiates? It's the latest novel by Josh Finney (Titan Rain, Star Trek: Enterprise) and Kat Rocha (Giant-Size Batman #1). Called utopiates – a merging of the words utopia and opiate—these drugs allow users to swap personalities with the "mental imprints" of other people. Every user has his or her own reasons for seeking chemical escape, but all soon learn the high price of "soul swapping."
The first chapter of the Utopiates graphic novel can be read free online HERE.
The Kickstarter is for an audio drama produced by AudioComics and starring Denise Poirier, best known as the voice of MTV's Æon Flux. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, click on the link and support them.
Not sure what an audio drama is? Here is a trailer for Finney's other graphic novel series turned audio drama Titan Rain.
