Batman Fortnite Comic Will Arrive In Plastic Bags With Sealed Sticker

Do you remember the days when comic book companies sold comics in plastic polybags – ostensibly to include things like trading cards, but actually so that they could trick folk into buying multiple copies of a comic, one to keep and one to read? And now official collector advice is to take the book out of the bag? Well, with Batman/Fortnite it may be back.

DC Comics has told comic book stores that they are pushing the order date for the first issues of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point comic. This suggests that order numbers are a lot lower than DC believes are justified. And are doing whatever they can to persuade comic book retailers that this will be a thing.

First, they have let folk know about the Batman/Snake Eyes crossover in issue 3. Now they are telling retailers that all copies of Batman/Fortnite: Zero Point will be returnable. But that returnability depends on the comics still being sealed in their bags,

All six issues of the comic series are returnable. All copies must be returned in saleable condition and intact still in their original poly-bag and sticker still attached, no later than 90 days from their initial in-store date. Torn, ripped, or otherwise damaged copies will not be accepted as being in saleable condition. Premium covers are NOT returnable.

Why so emphatic about the bags? Well, each comic will contain a code that can be used in the Fortnite game to redeem an in-game item, one code per Fortnite account, per issue. So no one gets to get the code and then return the comic.

Prebviously, Bleeding Cool recently ran the news that DC Comics is to publish a Batman/Fortnite crossover comic that sees Batman comes to the Fortnite island, along with a number of other Batman cast members such as Catwoman and Harley Quinn. Here are the solicitation details again:
