Blake Northcott Takes Over The Back Of Millarworld Comics – And More!

photo-27124Earlier this year, cosplayer and CBS correspondent Blake Northcott wrote for Bleeding Cool,

I recently reached out to Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar about my current Kickstarter project (sci-fi/superhero novel 'Assault or Attrition') and this was the pitch I sent him

The premise is somewhat like, "What if Lex Luthor succeeded in killing Superman?"

Not just a 'What If?' scenario, but more like a 'What Now?' What would he do, how would the world react, and where would he hide? Lex would be the most hated (and hunted) man on the planet.

51 words. 273 characters. Not quite a Tweet, but close – definitely 'elevator length'.

The result was an endorsement from Mister Millar that helped set my campaign on fire during it's opening week:

It wasn't too hard, Blake and Mark were friends, and it seems there hasn't been a Mark Millar comic that Blake hasn't enjoyed since. Blake Northcott has written a number of positive reviews for CBS Man Cave for Mark's books, including promoting the fake "Tattooed Granny" PR stunt that Mark created, though CBS did intervene…

…and eventually someone seems to have deleted that bit.  But they've had a good relationship it seems, over the years,

And it's more than Kick-Ass that will have to come to an end, because of pesky remains of journalistic integrity.

In January, Millar will be changing his Millarworld site completely, as well as the backmatter of all his Millarworld titles. He writes,

Part of all this will be a revamp of Creative and part of THAT will involve a synthesis of the website and the back six pages of the Millarworld titles themselves. Writer Blake Northcott is going to be taking over these pages and co-ordinating this side of things, having a story-specific thread here today where people can talk about the books (Currently Starlight, MPH, Jupiter's Legacy and the Kick-Ass 3 conclusion) and another thread exclusively and permanently in Creative where new artists can submit the work they're most proud of and every month we're going to select a few pieces for publication in the back-pages of all the Millarworld titles.

Maybe that could include some of the Space Oddities winners? Blake also writes,

I'm ridiculously excited to be part of the expanding MillarWorld universe – getting to oversee the new Lettercol and Creative section of both the printed MW books and here on the Forum is going to be a blast, and I can't wait to jump right in!

Got art? POST IT HERE!

This thread is the officially official thread for art.

For realsies.

AND…to make things even more interesting: there will also be a featured Cosplay of the month!

Each issue will focus on the most creative cosplayer that MillarWorld can find – this will be featured not only here on the forum, but alongside the featured artwork and the lettercol in the back of each MillarWorld issue.

So guys, get out your Hit-Girl costumes and snap some selfies! Well, not actual guys in a Hit-Girl costume, because…you know. But hey – not judging! Whatever butters your popcorn.
