A major French comic book series is in need of an artist.
Tanguy And Laverdure is the most famous aviation comics series in France. It was created by Jean-Michel Charlier and Asterix's Albert Uderzo Asterix, and later drawn by and Jijé, the man who taught Moebius.
So, you know, no pressure.
It has generated a TV series and a feature film, Les Chevaliers du Ciel (Knights of Sky) and is a favourite with the French Air Force.
It's current artist has been a little on the slow side and the publisher wants to profit from the current aviation comics boom in France.
Yes, there is one.
So the publisher is running a compeition to find the new ongoing artist, with the Cartoon Festival Chambery, in Octoebr with a panel of judges and comics professionals. The winner will be offered a publishing contract and a scripy.
But artists who can draw planes are well advised to try for it!
Gary Erskine? Chris Weston? Bueller?
Anyone who is up for it can get the rules here.
