Yes, Comics Can Break Your Heart… but They Can Mend It, Too
Will Allred writes:
Comics may very well break your heart. The business of comics has most certainly left a trail of broken promises, crushed dreams, and destroyed lives over the decades. Of that, there is no doubt.
But, making comics… that act can bring real joy to you and others. It can help you cope with the vicissitudes of life, and it makes you a part of one of the most supportive creative communities on the planet. And, it's just freakin' fun!
At least, that's been my experience.
I genuinely love the medium.
There's simply no way I'd rather tell a story than working with a team of artists in a true collaborative effort. Teaming with a talented and hard-working artist like Gene Gonzales and an equally talented and professional letterer like Rus Wooton on Diary of Night was a wonderful experience, an experience that I hope to repeat as I keep creating comics.
So, that's why we've taken Diary of Night to Kickstarter. We're trying to fund the printing of a collected edition, both a trade paperback and a hardcover.
If you'd like to see what Gene, Rus, and I created, take a look at Diary of Night Volume 1 on Kickstarter.
We're proud of what we created, and we're sure you'll love it, too.

Here's a quick summary of the series:
Catherine Morrison has spent the better part of 900 years walking the line between humans and vampires… protecting her people from the worst of humanity and humanity from the worst of her people.
She is loved, feared, and sometimes even hated, but she's never been hunted.
Until now.
We would love to get this book printed for you since all the work is already done.
