DC Comics Promises That WildC.A.T.S. Will Return (Spoilers)
Bleeding Cool ran the big spoilers news over the weekend, that WildC.A.T.S. is returning to the DC Comics continuity. Now courtesy of Matthew Rosenberg and Ryan Benjamin, we have the visual proof that this is something DC Comics is committing to. Spoilers ahead of course.
The Wildstorm characters, initially created by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi, were bought by DC when they bought the Wildstorm Studios. And now that Jim Lee is the Publisher and CCO of DC Comics, there's a little more openness to using WildStorm and WildCATS characters. We have has quite a few mentions of Apollo and Midnighter in the Superman books, Grifter in Batman, and more classic Wildstom characters in Batman Urban Legends. Zealot will be fighting Wonder Woman in that next month. But today's issue is full-on WildC.A.T.S.
With WildC.A.T.S. bringing back the initials in its name that once stood for Covert Action Teams, and membership crossing their publication history from Grifter to Ladytron to Zealot to Deathblow and beyond. Is that Spartan as the robot? Is that Void in the astronaut suit? Is that Fairchild in the Gen 13 suit? Who is the Kherabim in the black and purple?
So much more to learn – will Zealot Vs Wonder Woman next month reveal more?
