Donny Cates, recently of the hit Image Comics series God Country – and former Bleeding Cool reporter – is writing a new series for AfterShock.

Baby Teeth, drawn by Garry Brown, will be published in June. Cates tells us "Babyteeth is so much fun to write. After spending much of my career writing gruff anguished heroes and dusty old men I really wanted to sink my teeth into something that had a lot of heart and a lot of fun to it. That being said, I suppose it's telling that my idea of fun is a young girl giving birth to the antichrist. But honestly, Sadie Ritter is one of my hands down favorite people in the whole world. I love her dearly and I know you will too. Her son can be a handful, though…

And might I just say, that doing the book with AfterShock has been amazing. Everyone at the company has been fired up and 100% onboard since I turned the first pitch in. Their excitement is infectious and makes the whole creative team really step their game up. I tend to think fans can tell when a creative team is having fun on a book. And if even a tenth of Aftershocks enthusiasm bleeds through on this one, you are all going to have a fucking blast reading Babyteeth."
