Former Marvel And DC Editor Signs On With Dynamite
Rachel Pinnelas started in the comic industry in 2008 as an intern with Marvel Entertainment. She moved her way up to Assitant Editor where she worked on Avengers Academy, Secret Warriors, Thunderbolts and The Punisher. In 2013 she moved over to DC Entertainment where she was an assistant editor in their Collected Editions department. She was not one of the editors to make the move to the west coast.
Now she is joining Dynamite Entertainment as an Associate Editor where she will be working on the recently announced relaunches of Red Sonja, Dejah Thoris and Vampirella.
"I am very excited to be part of the Dynamite Entertainment team and to work with their dynamic and diverse comic book titles alongside tremendous industry talent," says Pinnelas. "The range of Dynamite's offerings across genres makes for an extraordinary lineup, and I can't wait to share more of what's to come with our readers."
"In between her time at Marvel and DC, we had actually spoken to Rachel about coming aboard here at Dynamite, but the timing then never worked out. It was awesome to pick up that conversation with her again when her time ended at DC," says Joseph Rybandt, Senior Editor. "Rachel brings experience, perspective, and drive to the job, and she hit the ground running from Day One by managing the Swords of Sorrow crossover, setting up the Red Sonja, Dejah Thoris, and Vampirella relaunches, and so much more."
"We're extremely excited to be working with Rachel. She's one of the few people in an editorial position that has worked at both Marvel and DC, and welcome her experience at both companies to the Dynamite ranks. We have quite a few exciting projects in the pipeline for next year, and bringing Rachel on board as part of the team is fantastic! It's great to have her being a part of the relaunches of Red Sonja, Dejah Thoris, and Vampirella, as well as additional projects soon to be announced. It's an exciting time and we couldn't be happier to have Rachel on board," says Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci.
