Frank Cho Spider-Gwen, Zatanna, Mary Jane & Man-Thing Sketch Covers
We do love a Frank Cho outrage sketch cover here at Bleeding Cool. Taking a blank-covered comic book, and adding a satirical cartoon based around the comic book characters in question, all taken in good humour. Well, mostly good humour. As long as the black sketch covers are white and not coloured" Find out why below…
Frank Cho held a CGC in-house private signing which saw him selling sketch-covered comic books to those unable to get to comic conventions where these things are usually commissioned and created. He also concocted a few remarques on existing covers of his, adding extra comments and meaning to previous work, such as the following for Harley Quinn #74.
"In Sarasota, Florida, at CGC headquarter. Finished signing all the comics. Now working on the comic book Remarques. Then onto the sketch covers."
"Swamp Thing vs Man-Thing sketch cover. Hanging out at the Torpedo Comics warehouse in Las Vegas with Ryan Ottley and Ryan Stegman. Finished another sketch cover for CGC. On to the next one… Power Girl."
"Mary Jane, private in-house CGC signing. Things are not well at the Parker household."
"Gwen Stacy, CGC in house private signing. Poor Gwen. The final drawing of the day in sunny Sarasota, Florida."
"Zatanna, sketch cover. Another sketch cover for CGC private in-house signing. A Harry Potter-Zatanna mash up. FYI: All those people who sent in colored blank sketch covers were automatically rejected. Trying to draw on a colored paper is like sky writing at night. It's stupid and a waste of my time."
"Heads up, cat fanciers. Another art drop coming next week. Up for grabs at Big Wow Art Facebook group will this Tigra and Jerry art print. Head on down to Big Wow Art Facebook group page for more info. Remember, the early bird gets the worm, and the second mouse gets the cheese."
