There are fewer Free Comic Book Day titles on offer this year than last. And there are even fewer all-ages comics. Ostensibly aimed at getting kids into comic stores by giving them free stuff to whet their appetite
That has changed of late, with a number of mature readers titles being allowed into the fold, as well as more PG titles. This year, proportionately had less all ages titles than ever before.
And the line continues to darken. Retailers have been informed that three Free Comic Book Day titles have all changed their guidance tags.
Hatter M: Love Of Wonders, solicited as an All Ages title, will now be Suitable For Teen Readers.
While Archie Comics' Dark Circle Comics #1 was solicited for Teen Readers but is now a Mature Readers comic. Could it have something to do with this?
While Grimm Fairy Tales' Wonderland has moved from Teen Readers to Mature Readers.
Archie comics and Alice In Wonderland comics on Free Comic Book Day, all out of the grasps of little youngsters… who would have thought it?
