Black Hood, The First Archie Comic To Use The F-Word

And I don't mean "float".

Of late, Archie Comics have pushed the limits of their traditionally all-ages family-friendly line of comics. Life With Archie told older stories, Afterlife With Archie introduced sex and violence, albeit mostly off-screen, while Sabrina The Teenage Witch went for satanism and full back nudity.

Well, the new Dark Circle line, reinventing Archie's Red Circle superheroes for a new generation, takes it a step further, into DC Vertigo territory – with Black Hood being the first Archie Comic to ever drop the F-bomb.

Retailers are warned not to stick this next to the Archie And Jughead Digest on the shelf…

Here is a page from a preview of the comic.

What's next?

Oh yes, and as well as Black Hood #1 being returnable for retailers, the other Dark Circle launch issues The Fox and The Shield will be as well… handy of there's a boycott held outside your store.
