Jack Kirby's Granddaughter Talks About Raising $20,000 This Year For Comic Creators On Hard Times #Kirby4Heroes

Jillian Kirby is the grand daughter of Jack Kirby, legendary comic book creator across the decades, the creator and co-creator of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Hulk, the New Gods and so much more.

When she was 16, Jillian set up Kirby4Heroes, with the aim for raising money for the Heroes Initiative charity that looks after comic book veterans going through hard times. In 2012, he raised $5,000, in 2013 she raised $10,000, in 2014 she raised $15,000 and for this year, she i aiming to raise $20,000 in her grandfather's memory.

Launching in the LA Times, this year's campaign will see retailers and publishers supporting the fund-raising campaign, as well as the annual Wake Up And Draw event on August 28th with artists donating their time and their work to raise money.

Indeed, now that Marvel has settled with the Kirby estate, maybe we could see their participation?
