Marv Wolfman – His Time Has Come
Last week, Marv Wolfman's old Nova character, Blackout, was the villain on Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Also last week on Arrow was Deathstroke, Brother Blood and Bethany Snow (the TV reporter who was in Titans for years). Supposedly Summer Glau is playing Ravager (in the comic Deathstroke's daughter) on Arrow now.
Cyborg is announced for Superman Vs. Batman. On the big screen now is Felicia Hardy in Amazing Spider-Man 2 (leading, one assumes, to Black Cat in Amazing Spider-Man 3), the Nova Corps making an appearance in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. And of course Titans Go! is the high rated show on Cartoon Network and features dozens of familiar characters created by the Wolfman.
Throw in the likes of Blade and, after Stan and Jack, Marv Wolfman has had more characters appear on TV and in the movies than any other creator.
It's not like he'll get paid much, if anything, for any of this, but he's probably appreciate the credit. Here's to you, Marv Wolfman. Maybe someone should give him a higher media profile. And maybe this is a good place to start.
And of course, there are other compensations.
