Today's Punisher #10 by Jason Aaron, Jesus Saiz and Paul Azaceta, sees the Punisher going after the biggest bad guys in the world, with his army of Hand ninjas gited to him for his own use in an attempt to corrupt him as part of The Beast. And this is how it opens.
With the death of August Smythe in his private plane, with notes that are deliberately meant to be redolent of Jeffrey Epstein, with own planes, and wealthy patrons. In the Marvel Universe, he was killed by the Punisher, using the bodies of his other victims. But that's not the only Jeffrey Epstein that The Pumisher is killing today.
Because Jeffrey Epstein was also famous for his yachts and the billionaire parties he held on them. And the Punisher – that's him walking on the water – takes down this iteration as well. Although, also in synchronous terms, this looks exactly what happened to the late Microsoft co-founder and billionaire Paul Allen's superyacht today… Not that he would necessarily be a target of the Punisher. But it's not just Jeffrey Epsteins that the Punisher is killing.
There are also those subject to an ICC arrest warrant, such as that served upon Vladimir Putin this week. And the Punisher keeps going, across social media too, and across to Doctor Doom. Maybe.
The Punisher changes his skull symbol to the new Devil's Horns imagery after real-life use of the Punisher's logo was used everywhere by police, army, militia, white supremacist groups, QAnon events, and Sean Hannity on Fox News, even Trump Punisher pins have been popular. And then during the January 6th Insurrection at the Capitol building in Washington, many Punisher skull insignias were seen. This also followed Black Lives Matter protests and a focus on real and fictional police behaviour, including the use of Punisher imagery by the police. Amidst calls for Marvel and Disney to cancel The Punisher as a character. Maybe a Jeffrey Epstein-assassinating Punisher would go over better. However, it is still outside of the Rule Of Law. The Punisher is a serial killer. And the status quo of the Marvel universe will just not abide by it. Right, status quo of the Marvel Universe?
Look, they've all been in TV shows and movies recently, or in the near future… The Punisher #10 is published by Marvel Comcis today.
