Niles Caulder, In Today's Justice League, Remains A Complete Arse

From today's Justice League, Niles Caulder, the Chief, leader of the newly relaunched and recreated Doom Patrol, established his reputation as a but of a git to Robot Man.

Basically giving himself a superhero team by blackmail and threat.

But is that anything new? It was Grant Morrison and Richard Case in an earlier nineties Doom Patrol that established the previously cold-and-calculating Caulder as a character capable of so much more.

And in so doing so gave M Night Shyamalan, the idea for his movie, Unbreakable.

Um, you know, spoilers.

So basically, in comparison, the New 52 Niles Cauder is a bit of a sweetie. Still an arse, though, just less of one.
