Panel Syndicate Just Released Universe! #2 For Download
Mark Avo writes,
The independent digital comics publisher Panel Syndicate has just released their latest issue of Albert Monteys' UNIVERSE!. Fans of Panel Syndicate have loved the Eisner award winning co-founders Brian K. Vaughn and Marcos Martin's digital only The Private Eye and waited a long time for another title to be added to the publishers available books. Monteys' Universe! is a series meant to be one-and-done sci-fi stories with a possibility of interconnectedness. Monteys is playing with each story in a truly creatively free environment so anything could happen.
For now though, the creator's first work in issue one was critically acclaimed and issue two does not disappoint the hype. A cartoonist by trade, Albert Monteys previously worked for the popular Spanish magazine El Jueves until a censorship dispute left him with a choice of integrity. He made the move away from El Jueves and his friend Marcos Martin invited him to the comic book world. He fits in perfectly, perhaps because of the freedom of expression Panel Syndicate offers him. The wonderful news for readers and comic book fans alike is that Panel Syndicate's price structure is a "pay-what-you-like" one.
If you're afraid you may not like the book or you don't have a tablet and would rather just get a preview of the issue you can get more than the sneak peek below, you can download the book from their site for whatever you like. Keep in mind though, that these creators are putting their trust in fans. If you appreciate the work, be sure to let them know so they'll keep producing censorship free creative master pieces like UNIVERSE! and Panel Syndicate's other book, The Private Eye.
