Brendan McCarthy Brings Paradax To Hollywood
I understand that London comic book creator Brendan McCarthy is currently in LA, taking meetings with a number of major film studios to pitch a top-secret animated movie project, developed with a big name comics writer.
But he's also talking about a motion capture CGI TV series based on his classic 'bad boy' superhero comic with Peter Milligan, Paradax, originally published by Eclipse Comics and then Vortex. It's being pitched as a risque surreal comedy animated series, somewhere between Sex And The City and the 60's Batman TV show. Seinfeld meets Kick-Ass!
Brendan is best known as the co-creator of the Reboot TV series, the first longform CGI animation. He also is a 2000AD stalwart creator, especially known for his work on Judge Dredd, he wrote and designed the upcoming Mad Max: Fury Road movie, designed the central characters for Skrull Kill Krew, Shade The Changing Man and Zenith, as well as graphic novels such as Skin and Rogan Gosh. and has a Dr. Strange/Spider-Man series out from Marvel in April.
He's also working on a yet-to-be-announced comic with Matt Fraction.
