DC UK Wednesday On Sale Date Still Undecided – Despite Diamond USA Saying It Is

Despite Diamond's letter to publishers stating that comic books would now be delivered to all comic shops in the USA and the UK on the Tuesday of each week, for an effective Wednesday on-sale date, and in the light that negotiations with DC saw that company push for an equal on-sale date in the UK and the USA, Diamond UK sent out the following missive to UK comic shops today, stating that no change to shipping or on-sale date had yet been decided. Diamond UK currently ships comics on Wednesdays and Thursdays to UK shops, for Thursday on-sale date.

Contrary to internet speculation, Diamond UK would like to make all of our retailers aware that no decision has yet been made with regard to changing shipping and product release dates within the UK.

This is a subject that Diamond is continuing to consider.

No change regarding shipping dates in the UK? Internet speculation? Despite the following being in a press release sent out by Diamond in the US?

Effective in January, 2011, retailers in North America and the UK will have the option of "day-early" delivery of weekly product shipments on Tuesdays for sale on Wednesdays.

Looks like the left hand and the right hand are having a bit of a game of Rock Scissor Paper if you ask me…
