Hercules Creates A New Battle Cry in Avengers: No Surrender #678 (Spoilers)

Avengers #10 by Stan Lee, Don Heck and Dick Ayers was an odd comic book in all sorts of ways. Basically… the events within it didn't happen after this moment…

Yes, Thor acting as CEO of the Avengers did happen. But the moment that the first Avenger cried out that all too familiar phrase…

…was wiped from history.That's the kind of thing that happens when you go up against Immortus. So the first time anyone on the team would have remembered was from Avengers #14. However Iron Man suddenly seemed to know it was coming in advance…

And by issue 16 it was on the cover.

But today in Avengers #678, another god takes it on himself to amend that famous battle cry that even named the first Avengers movie in the UK to avoid trademark issues with The Avengers TV series also from the sixties.

And so Hercules creates a new battle cry more in keeping with the Next Generation than Original Series…

…something more considered, less interventionalist, with fewer imperial connotations…
