Comic Shop The Core, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, sent in the following report and photogallery from their Free Comic Book Day event:
Approximately 2500 fans showed up for FCBD at The CORE in Cedar Falls, Iowa on May 2nd! Thousands of comics were given away to excited fans! While waiting for comics, visitors were entertained with face painting, balloon sculpture, Garbage Pail Kids artist Steve Potter and over a dozen of the CORE's Costumed Cast of Characters!
Fans got to mingle and snap photos with Batman, Superman, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Venom, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Cat Woman, Harley Quinn, Deadpool, Wolverine, Rogue, Star Lord, Gamora, Groot, and MORE!
All visitors had the opportunity to duel Darth Vader, dance with a 9 foot tall Groot, Watch Batman and Nightwing battle Harley & the Joker on the store roof, and select kids got to help Spider-Man subdue Venom using their own cans of webbing, and so much more! A wonderful day was had by all.
