MoCCA Fest Previews – A Leaf In The Night And Keepsakes Hold Mysteries And Secrets
Yes, it's more MoCCA Fest, and with things kicking into gear and only a week to go to the show on April 5th and 6th in New York, I imagine there'll be plenty more where these articles came from. Many indie comics artists and illustrators are debuting work at New York's premier indie comics show, and here are two creators with new books to show off.
Firstly, we have Alison Wilgus, with her new book A Leaf in the Night, which is a full-color, 24-page all-ages mini comic "about a moonlit cat adventure". Her cut-out, textured style and popping hues are bound to garner attention at the show. You'll be able to find Alison and her mini comic at table #H9 at MoCCA Fest.

Next up, we have Carey Pietsch, debuting her book Keepsakes, a 38 page comic with black & white interiors with full color front and back cover, that is both young adult and kid-friendly, priced at $5.00. Keepsakes certainly highlights Carey's fluid inking and emotive character work while building up mysteries to uncover. You can find Carey and Keepsakes at table #E13 at MoCCA Fest.
She describes Keepsakes thus:
Keepsakes is a story about two sisters. While supporting each other through the loss of a relative, they discover a (badly-kept!) secret and encounter strange elements in their grandparents' home. It's up to the two of them to mend fences, get out of danger, and figure out who else might be familiar with the town's mysteries. This is a YA/all-ages comic, but as with all things, can't hurt to give it a read yourself before passing it along to the kids in your life.

See you at MoCCA Fest? I think by now you're getting an idea of just how many great comics the event has to offer!
