Preacher Season 3 Finale 'The Light Above': Jesse Unleashes Genesis on Angelville – But Is It Too Late?

It's taken nine episodes of AMC's Preacher, but it finally comes down to this: Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper) versus Gran'ma Marie L'Angell (Betty Buckley). With his soul back and Genesis riding shotgun all warm-n-cozy inside of him, Jesse has years of abuse and two mourned parents to avenge – while Gran'ma's side deal with Satan (Jason Douglas) might not be as iron clad as she first thought (check out the episode trailer below).

But before he gets to Gran'ma, he's going to have to go through Jody (Jeremy Childs) – and before Jody, there's…

…TC (Colin Cunningham). As we can see from AMC's sneak preview for this Sunday's season finale 'The Light Above,' TC's about to learn the hard way that Jesse's not the little boy he remembers:

But this season finale is about so much more than that, as Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) looks to save himself and the Children of Blood from Eccarius' (Adam Croasdell) machinations. Then there's that matter of The Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), and The Angel of Death (Erinn Ruth) facing off with Hitler's (Noah Taylor) neo-Nazi saviors while Tulip (Ruth Negga) tries to keep her and Eugene's (Ian Colletti) butts out of Hell – by any means necessary:

PREACHER is a dramatic thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

The 10-episode third season follows Jesse's quest for God which takes him back to the place he's been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends — and a few enemies — Jesse will need to escape his past…because the future of the world depends on it.
