The Identity Of Web Of Venom's Symbiote As Well As The Host (Spoilers)
The identity of Web Of Venom's symbiote as well as the host, revealed... but is it a genie in the lamp? (Spoilers)
Today sees the release of Web Of Venom #1 by Jordan Morris, Ramon Rosanas and Luke Ross. Previously, I had revealed just who was the host of this Spider-Man-alike symbiote… taking on the Frank Miller Wolverine pose…

Because they are not claws. They are boomerangs. Or rather….

Because that is Boomerang, Fred Myers, a longtime Spider-Man villain. A former professional baseball pitcher from Australia who turned to crime, using his exceptional throwing arm and an arsenal of high-tech trick boomerangs.

He's even faster than Hawkeye. And just in case we needed the proof…

Suspended for taking bribes, he was recruited by the criminal organisation, Secret Empire, which equipped him with a costume and specialised weaponry designed to exploit his pitching skills, turning him into their operative codenamed Boomerang. He was created by Jack Kirby, Gene Colan and Stan Lee for the Hulk story in Tales to Astonish #81, but is now most associated with Spider-Man.

Of course, he still needs weapons, high tech, stuff to keep his eye in the game…

And you can come across all sorts of stuff on the shelf that way…

And hey, all's fair in love and symbiosis, right? Especially since this "Passenger" has been waiting for quite some time… and somehow manages to sit out Absolute Carnage and The King In Black events… somehow… look I don't know… we need another flashback maybe.

He is basically the genie in the lamp. And it seems that this genie, Passenger, is also a dab hand at persuasion, where fashion and inner psychological desires or shame are at play.

Turns out Boomerange really, really wants to be like Spider-Man. In, you know, some ways at least. But also? To have his own team…
