Rai #1 Sells Out Of 36,500 Print Run

Rai #1 by Matt Kindt and Clayton Crain has sold out of its 36,500 print run from Diamond Comic Distributors to comic stores two days after release. The book received advance orders from retailers totalling 30,475.

I understand that Valiant will be announcing a second printing on Monday with a new cover featuring Clayton Crain's interior art. The second printing will hit stands on June 5th, alongside Rai #2. Which is handy.

Rai is the first title of Valiant's Valiant First initiative, and it's an indication that things are off to good a start for the promotion. Armor Hunters #1 is the next Valiant First title, set to debut in Juneaftera Free Comic Book Day title tomorrow… so look for a similar scenario in 30 days time.

This is Valiant's second sellout of week – we ran the Harbinger #22 second print news earlier… The new printing will feature a cover by Morning Glories' Joe Eisma and arrive in stores on May 28th.
