ConWatch: I'm off to Kapow this morning. But it's not the only comics thing happening this week, Eisner-nominated Heidi MacDonald has plenty of coverage of MoCCA in New York this weekend, and that's where I'll be reading my coverage, on the Beat.

He was brought on for the Buffy animated series for Fox Kids. The series never made it off the ground because Disney bought Fox Kids. Jeph Loeb now works for Disney because of their purchasing of Marvel. One of his comics was inspiration for Smallville and then Loeb went to work on Smallville.

WC11: Vado Recounts 25 Years of SLG

Some of SLG's greatest success came less from risky gambles and more from good luck. Although "Fish Masters" was never their premiere title, the comic tie-in to a local television show did score the young SLG exposure to late-night television watchers. Among the insomniacs was an aspiring comic book creator who grabbed the address for Vado's storefront off the screen and drove by to drop off a sample of his work. Jhonen Vasquez's envelope containing sat on Vado's desk for a good while before Vado figured out he had something with potential in Vasquez and "Johnny the Homicidal Maniac."

Another New Thor Clip Debuts

Paramount Pictures has debuted a new clip for Thor through Yahoo! Movies, featuring a longer look at the characters of Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings as well as a hand-to-hand struggle in a hospital.
