The BBC Have Cancelled Shooting Stars, Here Are Some Reasons Why They Shouldn't Have
Sad news today as comedian Bob Mortimer tweeted that bizarre and hilarious comedy quiz show Shooting Stars has been cancelled by the BBC. The series returned after a long break in 2008 and the eighth series finished in September. Perhaps it was unpromising ratings or the show was just shafted to make room for something new, but either way it's bad news.
I watched Shooting Stars whilst growing up in the 90s and have always been a big fan of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer. I'm still waiting patiently for the next series of Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), because I watched it at an age when I didn't understand the concept of shows getting cancelled.
Shooting Stars was weird, demented and wonderful. In memoriam, here's a look back at some of the many great moments in the show.
