Comics Publisher Valiant Sees Its Future on Film
Investors have contributed modest amounts (millions but not tens of millions), which is enough to "comfortably" serve Valiant's current needs, Peter Cuneo said. The hunt for movie financing — $300 million to $400 million — will soon start, an endeavor that he predicted would be eased by Marvel's track record. "Investors like to be able to compare concepts to other concepts," he said. "With Valiant, we very much have a blueprint to follow, which is Marvel."

This week at San Diego's Comicon International there will be many book announcements, and now we'll finally get closure on where HULK, the book I was writing went.
ICv2 – Diamond Digital Launching July 23rd
Diamond Comic Distributors and iVerse Media will launch Diamond Digital, a new service allowing comic retailers to sell digital comics, on July 23rd. Consumers will be able to buy digital comics either via digital redemption codes purchased in stores or directly from retailer Websites. Comics will be downloadable and readable on mobile devices using a Digital Comics Readers app or on comic retailers' Websites.
The Hero Initiative — Roger Slifer
Roger Slifer, a comic book writer, editor and colorist, was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Santa Monica, Calif., on June 23. He remains in a coma at a local hospital. Hero Initiative will be helping out with medical and financial assistance in the matter of Roger Slifer. We gladly accept all monetary donations.

So I just asked Kyle Higgins about her and here's what he said:

Again, we feel slightly inoculated in the sense that graphic novels is not a category where the percentage of ebook sales is anywhere near some of the higher performing categories for a multitude of reasons. We still see very strong physical numbers out of the book store channel, and the advance numbers on those big books that we have coming don't show any weakness in that marketplace either from our perspective.
