We're officially in the second half of the comic book year with Comic Con behind us, and our first major bit of post-Comic Con comic news is interesting — because it's not easy to see Marvel's upside on this one. Widely panned the first time, it at least had the idea that it was a new pr poke at a longtime competitor going for it. And wtf sometimes has some value. But this time, coming in the middle of a stellar PR run by DC over both Flashpoint and the DCU New 52 (and just when Marvel themselves had sparked some very engaging marketing such as the Defenders mystery images) it just smells a little weird.
