SDCC '15: A Sequel To Breathtaker, Twenty Years On, As If It Was Always Meant To Be
At the Titan Comics panel earlier today Mark Wheatley talked about his comic book series with Marc Hempel originally published by DC/Vertigo twenty years ago, Breathtaker.
And during the Titan Panel as well as discussing that creating the series as separate black and white ink, with colour on acetate, as below, was rather unfortunate twenty years later.
As twenty years worth of aging, warps paper in one way and plastic in another.
Which means that the restoration took about as much time as the original comic.
But he did also mention that it would be getting the sequel originally planned twenty years ago, which was meant to be set twenty years in the future, now.
Almost as if it was meant to be. Which is why Wheatley thanked his Vertigo editors for getting fired all that time ago…
