Reorder Charts – Is Saga #2 Heading For A Sellout?
This chart is the only chart that measures "buzz", by looking at the comics being ordered by retailers after the usual orders are in. It measures the realisation by retailers that they may not have quite ordered enough of something, and now have to place an advance reorder to try and catch up. Second prints often only get ordered this way, so they are usually overrepresented, but they can add to an overall picture.
And here, the picture is Saga #2 is heading to a sellout, as Saga #1 already did, closely followed by that Ultimate Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collection and Secret. Retailers are also catching up with the orders for Avengers Vs X-Men with tie in books such as New Avengers getting a bump too. The rejigged $2.99 first issue of America's Got Powers has also had an uptick but I don't think it's going to be nearly enough. That has sell-out-$15-by-Saturday written all over it.
Suicide Squad has rapidly increased in popularity recently, hence the rise in orders for issue, and Batman Arkham Unhinged clearly did quite well for a comic previously available as digital.
You can see the effect of Mark Millar's promotion for The Secret Service, and with early issues of Star Wars: Dawn Of The Jedi increasingly hard to find retailers are trying to get issues of the comic they can reorder.
