Starfire, In The Changing Of The Clothes
Much has been made of the new look Starfire, debuting in her own book today from DC Comics. Aimed more at classic Teen Titans fans, aimed at a growing female audience, a female-positive, non-slut-shaming, non-exploitative comic book.
Which has led to some to state that it will be non-fun as well. Or heaven forfend, non-sexy.
It is just possible that today's Starfire #1 will counter such criticism.
Because do remember, this is from the same team who write Harley Quinn.
And who have become masters of having their cake and eating it. Who can both parody previous Starfire costumes that gathered much criticism…
While creating cheesecake imagery and commentary by themselves.
And then taking everything off, and having a outdoor public shower scene.
It's the Harley Quinn way. Talking of which…
As opposed to her current Suicide Squad look.
Which is more fun to you? And as for Starfire's other life, we get but a mention in Red Hood/Arsenal #1 also out today.
Best not read too far into Starfire #1 then. Not while he's still holding a gun…
