The Fake Adam Hughes Cover For Harley Quinn #1

s-l1600 (4)

This is a copy of Harley Quinn #1, with an Adam Hughes 1:25 variant cover. It recently sold, raw, on eBay for almost $400.

A CGC 9.8 slabbed edition can sell for three times that.

So when someone bought their friend the comic in question, at a comics show so she could get it signed later by Adam Hughes at Baltimore Comic Con and paid $500, that wasn't an unexpected price.

What was unexpected was what happened when the friend pulled it out for Adam to sign.

To find it was a copy of the New Suicide Squad #1 comic, standard cover, with a photocopied Harley Quinn  cover stashed on top, then bagged and boarded.

If you bought an expensive, variant cover comic at a show of late, might it be worth checking you got what you thought you paid for?
