The Strangest Detective Comics #1000 Variant Cover Yet

We called this Detective Comics #1000 variant cover the laziest possible. Scorpion Comics must have looked at that and said 'hold my tequila'. Because this is the front to one of their retailer exclusive variant covers.

And this is the back cover.

Seriously. It is the Black Blank Sketch Variant, Intended, like the Blank Sketch Variant for artists to sketch on. And limited to 1000 copies. Released along with the other Detective Comics #1000 on March 26th. Just a week or so before April Fool's Day.

How are you meant to sketch on it? Tipp-Ex? Chalk? White paint? Glue guns with glitter? It seems like quite a stumper. Oh and they are charging $2.99 each. Or five for $99.99. Or ten for $1798.99. Well they were, because they've just sold out of the ten packs.

I know.

But they also have another one from Clayton Crain. which makes it all better. Three versions for this one…

This one for $24.99.

This one for $49.99.

And this one for $59.99.

Add these to the ones we ran hereherehere, here, herehere, here, here, hereherehereherehere, here and here. Anyone fancy totting them all up so far?
