In Tomorrow's Midnighter And Apollo #3 – The Return Of The Ace Of Winchesters

The Ace of Winchesters is a magical rifle made  by a mystic occultist in the Texas Rangers, to kill demons.

ace_of_winchesters_0001Made from halo-steel and hades-gems, bound in the ivory of saints, it first appeared during Garth Ennis' Hellblazer run, way way back in issue 76. John Constantine had been hired to retrieve the rifle, though he ended up stealing it with his friend Brendan Finn, who then sold it on.

Garth Ennis then revived it in the Hitman series, when the demon Mawzir hired Catwoman to steal it from the Gotham City Museum. Tommy Monaghan ended up with it and used it to kill Mawzir.

Well, it looks like as part of the DC Rebirth that Mawzir is back. And so is the Ace Of Winchesters. Which is exactly what Midnighter needs to free his boyfriend Apollo from Hell… in tomorrow's Midnighter And Apollo #3 as writer Steve Orlando goes deep diving into DC continuity.
