Vertigo Relaunches with 7 "Socially Relevant" Comics by Zoë Quinn, Bryan Hill, More

DC Comics will celebrate Vertigo's 25th anniversary the only way they know how… with a reboot! Well, a "relaunch" might be the more accurate term, but not the most fitting. Vertigo will launch seven new titles starting this fall under the guidance of editor Mark Doyle, with plans to rededicate focus on "creating modern, socially relevant, high-concept, inventive stories appealing to readers of all genres." Creative teams will be drawn from "bold voices across various entertainment backgrounds including novels, games, television, comics and more."

"It's time to rebuild DC Vertigo," Doyle said in a press release. "We're returning to our roots by spotlighting the most exciting new voices in comics, as well as bringing new voices to comics. From the corners of television, games, music, activism, podcasting, comics and more, all of our creators are passionate and have something to say. These sophisticated stories have amazing new characters and vast worlds to explore. That's what it has always been about for me—new stories, new voices, new possibilities. We're creating a new generation of DC Vertigo classics for readers of all genres."

The relaunch was first announced last October, though it was teased even earlier that year. Below is the lineup of seven books. Four will launch later this year, with the rest hitting stores in 2019.
