You know what they say: everybody's gotta go sometime. And when you're a comic book character, that's more true than ever, as comic book characters are likely to die more than a few times over the course of their long careers. DC Comics has released a preview of next week's The Batman's Grave #6, and Batman and Jim Gordon in this preview realize the truth about the fleeting nature of life. They just disagree on which of them is going to die first!

It begins with the pair looking to escape Arkham Asylum.

Batman displays a remarkable sense of self-awareness by realizing he probably deserves to be locked up in a mental institution himself… and he believes it could be Gordon or his successor who puts him there.

Their conversation about who is likely to die first is interrupted by attacking patients.

And Batman, as always, relishes the opportunity to brutally beat the mentally ill.

Though it looks like he may have bitten off more than he can chew today.

The Batman's Grave #6 hits stores next Wednesday.
