Bandai Namco Finally Gives WRC 6 A Release Date
As if there wasn't enough stuff happening on March 3, Bandai Namco has announced that will be the date for the next installment of their racing series, WRC 6, will be available for PS4, XB1 and Steam next month.
For those unfamiliar with the series, this is a racing title based off the World Rally Championship league, primarily held in Europe. If you love watching Volkswagen racing cars run around obstacle courses and get beat up, this is the sport for you. The video game series has been running since 2001 with French developer Kylotonn taking over at WRC 5. While the series is popular overseas, it doesn't really do well in America beyond hardcore racing gamers.
In a press release, Bandai Namco said there would be "11 new Super Special Stages that combine unique driving challenges with iconic environments from around the world, 100% accurate with the real stages." So you're getting a mix of experimental material that would feel like a fictional race along with real-life challenges. We'll see if the game can hold up to other racers when it pops out on consoles and PC in four weeks.
