Gearbox Eludes to a Borderlands Announcement at PAX East
Fans of the Borderlands series are working themselves into a frenzy this week over a single social media post from Gearbox pointing to PAX East. The company posted this tweet yesterday, showing off a roadsign for Boston on March 28th, the first day of PAX East in Boston, in the Borderlands art style, pretty much confirming the company will be there and that they've got something special to announce.
The immediate thought from practically everyone is Borderlands 3 is on the way, but we've been through this song and dance before with the company when we thought we'd be getting another sequel and it just turned out to be the Telltale Games series. So as much as we would love to see that, we've been burned before by supposed announcements of a new game and we're not buying it just yet. We'll believe it when we're standing in the convention center looking at a Borderlands 3 poster. Until that happens or we're given a teaser in advance, we're not getting our hopes up yet beyond it being another side-game or some other use of the IP.
