Nolan North Takes Over Cayde-6 Role from Nathan Fillion in Destiny 2: Forsaken
Nathan Fillion has confirmed that he won't be playing Cayde-6 in Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion as he was unavailable, so Nolan North is taking up the mantle for what might be the character's last outing.
Destiny 2: Forsaken is proving to be a pretty Cayde-6 heavy expansion. The opening pitch for the content is that the character is dying, so Bungie is being far from coy about that fact. This has led some to believe there is more going on and that we almost certainly will see the character in the future. Whatever the case, it seems the character will feature prominently.
However, there is one massive change coming, and that is Cayde-6 will have a new voice. Nathan Fillion is rather well known for playing the character, but while doing press for his Uncharted fan film he revealed that Nolan North is taking on the character this time around. Talking to Kotaku, he confirmed his absence as he is unavailable, confirming North is taking on the role in Destiny 2. He did, however, add that he doesn't believe this is the end for Cayde-6. He said:
How do I feel about Cayde-6? I absolutely love him. How do I feel about that character dying? I don't personally believe it, because he's a Guardian.
He should be able to come back. I mean that's their whole thing, is that they come back right? The whole thing is the resurrection.
It seems that Nolan North has now become the expert of filling in for unavailable actors in the Destiny universe. He famously made his debut, taking over the reigns of the Ghost from Peter Dinklage back in the first game. I assume some fans will be disappointed as Fillion had become so synonymous with Cayde, but if someone can do a great job filling it, I don't think there would be much better choices than North.
