Overwatch League Player Fined $1K For Obscene Jesture
My oh my, the Overwatch League just seems to never catch a break with the players they've chosen. Yesterday night, Joon-Yeong Park, better known by his name Profit was doing a sound check for the London Spitfire with some results that the crew wasn't expecting to see. All of the game's players have their own headsets and solo cameras mounted above their monitors so they can cut to whomever they wish at a moment's notice. When the crew was setting up the Spitfires, they got this wonderful present from Park.
In response, the League fined Park $1,000 for the incident, but have not suspended him from play nor have the Spitfire deactivated him (yet). Park apologized on Twitter in the post we have for you below. This is the second incident to hit within a week where a player in the league was caught doing something offensive, after Felix "xQc" Lengyel was fined and suspended for homophobic comments. The Spitfire would go on to lose that match against the San Francisco Shock 3-2 in the first of two upsets yesterday evening, the other being the Philidelphia Fusion winning over the New York Excelsior 3-2, giving both all-Korean teams their first losses.
