How Many Warcraft Players Will Be Calling In Sick Tomorrow?
If you are sitting at work tomorrow and notice a few extra empty chairs then normal, it may be because of the release of World of Warcraft: Legion. The newest expansion for Blizzard Entertainment's highly successful MMORPG comes out tomorrow and players are returning to the game in droves. They may not be at the franchise high level of 12 Million players world-wide, but a lot of dormant accounts have been restarted.
The company has been smart, releasing some pre-expansion questlines, invasions to help level up characters that weren't ready for the expansion and allowing those who pre-ordered Legion access to the newest character class: Demon Hunters.
Servers that once felt like ghost towns now are having lag spikes and guild lists that would normally have the same three or four names are suddenly pages long… and this has been going on for weeks. Tomorrow players will be able to log in and start leveling characters to 110 and starting on quests to gain legendary artifact weapons that have been part of the franchises lore for years.
Yes… this is my way of letting the website know that I may not be posting as many stories starting tomorrow…
Here is a new video from Blizzard giving you an idea of the scale of Legion and the fate of Azeroth.
