ABC Cancels Castle

STANA KATIC, NATHAN FILLIONWe're just getting word tonight that ABC has cancelled Castle. The series, which stars Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, is about to conclude their eight season and had already been the subject of controversy. About a month back producers signed new contracts with Fillion, Seamus Dever and Jon Huertas for a ninth season but did not invite Katic or Tamala Jones back. This was a sign the show was already on shaky ground, but another season was still expected.

This should come as mixed news to the series fans who will be sad to see Richard Castle and Kate Beckett go off into the sunset, but they will be happy to have them do it together.
