Jackie Chan and John Cena Team Up for Action Thriller
It's like Hollywood is reading my wish list of team-up movies, because Jackie Chan and John Cena are pairing up for a new action thriller!
The film, which currently is going by the working title of Project X, is being directed by Need for Speed director Scott Waugh. Chan is also set to produce, and the film was written by Arash Amel.
The plot apparently centers on a Chinese-run oil refinery in the Middle East which falls under attack. Chan will play a private security contractor who is called in to handle the situation. He learns that the attack is part of a larger ploy to steal the oil, and so he teams up with a former Marine (played by Cena) to stop them.
Cena is replacing Sylvester Stallone, who was previously attached to star.
Chan was recently in The Foreigner with Pierce Brosnan (on which Chan was also a producer) and is attached to Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon sequels.
Cena recently starred in the comedy Blockers and will next be seen in the Transformers spinoff Bumblebee.
We don't know when the film is slated to start production, but we can't wait to see Jackie Chan and John Cena in action together.
