M. Night Shyamalan Describes Glass as a "Comic Book Version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest"
Unbreakable was the gritty superhero movie we got before we knew that was a thing we wanted. It was also a little forgotten when it came to movies by writer/director M. Night Shyamalan. It surprised everyone when the end of his movie Split connected the two and established a cinematic universe years later. Now the third movie in this series, Glass, is set to come out this January. According to Empire Magazine that he described the movie as a very interesting blending of genres.
"What if I did a comic-book version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest?" the writer-director explains. "How cool would that be? How weird and cool?"
We also got a new behind-the-scenes picture of Shyamalan with star Bruce Willis shooting the third entry in this series. Split went on to dominate the box office the January it was released so it looks like Universal Pictures and Blumhouse are looking to replicate that next month.
Summary: Security guard David Dunn uses his supernatural abilities to track Kevin Wendell Crumb, a disturbed man who has 24 personalities.
Glass, directed by M. Night Shyamalan, stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sarah Paulson. It will be released on January 18th, 2019.
